세인트 루이스의 놀거리 - St.Louis in Missouri(1)

세인트 루이스에 오면, 처음에는 그 황량함에 당황하게 된다. 

날씨가 궂은 날은 으스스까지한 분위기..

그리고 수시로 변하는 변덕스런 날씨도 한 몫한다. 

무엇을 해야 할 지, 어디를 가야할 지 고민하게 된다.

넓고 풍성한 포레스트 파크도 하루 이틀이면 동물원까지 돌아볼 수 있고..

그 다음 놀거리는 무엇이 있지? 하는 고민이 든다.

더구나 아이들과 동반한다면, 거긴 뭐가 있어? 뭘 할 수 있어? 여행객들이 가장 많이 하는 질문이다.

나는 학교를 다니면서 2년간 거주했기에 천천히 고민했지만, 만약 세인트 루이스로 여행을 온다면 꼭 가봐야 할 놀거리,

이미 포스팅한 Arch와 Forest Park를 제외하고 Six Flags 가 대표적이다.

On a bad weather day, the atmosphere is even spooky..
And the weather, which changes from time to time, also plays a part.
Maybe you wonder what to do and where to go.
You can visit the vast and abundant Forest Park with the zoo in a day or two.
What's the fun next? 
Moreover, if you come with children, what's there? What can you do? 

This is the most frequently asked question by travelers.
I lived there for two years while attending school, so I was slowly thinking about it, but if you travel to St. Louis, you must visit, excluding Arch and Forest Park, which have already been posted, Six Flags are representative.
And if you are not satisfied with Forest Park, we also recommend a Botanical garden.

 

1. Six Flags!! - 4900 Six Flags Rd. Eureka, MO 63025

 

처음에는 얼마나 자주 갈수 있을지 몰라서 일일권을 발급했지만, 결국 Membership으로 구매를 하게 됐다.

두 달에 한 번이라도 갈수 있다면 Membership 이 훨씬 저렴하다.

물론 그러고도 아이의 성화에 못이겨 'Flash Pass' 까지 구매했지만 말이다.

 

At first, I didn't know how often I could go, so I issued a one-day pass, but in the end, I bought it as a membership. 
Membership is much cheaper if you can go at least once every two months.
Of course, even then, I couldn't win over the child's torch and even bought the 'Flash Pass'.

 

어디를 가나 테마파크의 전세계 룰은 '일찍' 가는 것이다.

보통 9시에 오픈을 하기 때문에 9시 전에 가는 것이 좋다. 

그래야 주차도 좋은 자리에 할수 있고 놀이기구도 더 많이 탈수 있다.

 

Wherever you go, the global rule of theme parks is to go 'early'.
It usually opens at 9:00 am, so it's best to go before 9:00 am.
That way you can park in a good spot and ride more rides.

 

미국의 놀이기구를 타면서 느낀 점은 사람들이 모두 '커서' 그런지

한국에서 타던 놀이기구에 비해 훨씬 그 강도가 세다는 점이다.

게다가 안전장치는 훨씬 허술하게 느껴지지만, 그 스릴은 몇배가 된다.

 

What I felt while riding the rides in the US is that the intensity is much stronger than the rides I used to ride in Korea, probably because people are all 'tall and big'.
Moreover, the safety device feels much flimsier, but the thrill is multiplied.

 

할로윈에 가게 되면 해가 질때 쯤 할로윈 코스튬을 한 무리들의 퍼레이드가 시작되고 

테마파크 전체가 '귀신의 집'이 된다.
해가 지면 잘 보이지 않는데 여기저기서 놀래키기도 하고 잡아당기고 겁을 준다.

나도 입구까지 나오는 길에 심장마비가 몇번이나 올 뻔 했다는...ㅜㅜ

 

When you go to Halloween, a parade of people dressed in Halloween costumes starts around sunset, 

and the whole theme park becomes a 'haunted house'.
It is hard to see when the sun goes down, but here and there it surprises, pulls, and scares.

I was going to the entrance, I almost had a heart attack several times...Lol

 

 

St. Louis 에서 놀거리를 찾는다면, Six Flags는 필수!

여름에는 워터파크도 개장하고 하루로는 부족한 곳이다.

하지만 충분히 놀고 지치기에 가장 알맞은 곳으로 강추한다!

 

If you're looking for fun in St. Louis, Six Flags is a must!
In summer, the water park is also open, so one day is not enough.
However, I strongly recommend it as the most suitable place to play enough and get tired!
