Standing Concert in Manhattan!

맨하탄에서 살다보면 가장 좋은 점이 다양한 각종 공연들을 많이 즐길 수 있다는 점이다. 

뮤지컬, 콘서트, 연극, 오케스트라 등 공연들을 비싸지 않은 가격으로 볼 수 있다. 

최근 Standing concert를 즐기면서 한국과는 또 다른 Concert 문화를 엿 볼수 있었다. 

 

The best thing about living in Manhattan is that you can enjoy many different types of performances.
You can see performances such as musicals, concerts, plays, and orchestras at an affordable price.
While enjoying a recent standing concert, I was able to get a glimpse of a concert culture that is different from Korea.

 

최근 AJR과 Boywithuke 공연을 찾았는데 공연장부터 색달랐다.

우리나라처럼 대형 콘서트장도 있지만, $20-$30불에 볼수 있는 Standing  concert는

작은 규모지만 가수들과 가까이서 함께 할 수 있다는 점이 가장 좋았고,

한 시간 반에서 두 시간 가량 이어지는 공연 동안,

가수들은 쉼없이 노래를 하고 팬들과 공감을 해준다는 것이 매우 좋았다.

 

I recently visited AJR and Boywithuke's concert, and the venue itself was different.
Although there are large concert halls like in Korea, standing concerts can be held for $20-$30.
Although it was small, the best thing was that I could be up close with the singers.
During the performance, which lasts for about an hour and a half to two hours,
It was great to see the singers singing non-stop and empathizing with the fans.

또한 공연장이 입구에서 곧바로 올라가면 마치 그냥 Bar와 같은 분위기이고,

나올때도 혼잡하지도 않았다. 

티켓은 내가 좋아하는 가수의 티켓팅 오픈때 맞추어서 하면 되는데,

대형콘서트장 보다 나는 이런 공연의 분위기가 훨씬 와닿았다.

물론 대기 시간은 좀 길었다.

한국만큼 아침부터 줄을 서거나 하진 않지만 그래도 한 두시간 전부터 줄이 생기는데

유명한 가수일수록 대기 시간은 길어진다.

나도 AJR공연때는 3시간을 기다리고 공연을 봤다는.. 

 

Also, when you go straight up from the entrance of the concert hall, the atmosphere is just like a bar.
It wasn't crowded when I left.
You can buy tickets according to the opening of tickets for your favorite singer.
I was much more impressed by the atmosphere of this performance than at a large concert hall.
Of course, the waiting time was a bit long.
Although there are not as many lines in the morning as in Korea, lines do form an hour or two beforehand.
The more famous the singer, the longer the waiting time.
During the AJR performance, I also waited for 3 hours to see the performance.

 

스탠딩 공연인 만큼, 모두가 함께 즐기고 춤추고 움직이는 공연이다.

사실 키가 작은 사람들에겐 뒤에 서게 되면 잘 보이지 않아서 불리할 수 있다.

하지만 그 누구도, 그 어떤 사람도 뒤에 서서 보이지 않는다고 불평을 하는 일이 없다.

춤추고 함께 움직이다 보면 서로 부딪히기도 하는데,

조금이라도 다른 사람에게 터치를 하게 되면,

누가 먼저랄 것 없이 "I'm sorry."를 하는 문화..

서로에 대한 배려가 몸에 밴 듯한 미국식 문화는 정말 배울 점이 많다.

 

As it is a standing performance, it is a performance where everyone enjoys, dances and moves together.
In fact, short people may be at a disadvantage because they cannot see well if they stand behind them.
But no one, no one, stands back and complains about not being seen.
When we dance and move together, we sometimes bump into each other.
If you touch another person even slightly,
A culture of saying “I’m sorry” without worrying about who is first..
There is really a lot to learn from American culture, where consideration for each other seems to be ingrained in us.

 

대형공연장도 좋지만, 이런 소규모의 콘서트 홀을 찾아보는 것도 정말 좋은 듯 하다.

한국에서도 클럽 등에서 밴드들의 공연이 많이 있지만, 

그런 공연과는 또 다른 모습이다.

맨하탄에서만 즐길수 있는 공연 문화, 정말 추천하고 싶다.

 

Large concert halls are good, but it is also really good to find small concert halls like this.
In Korea, there are many bands performing in clubs, etc.
It's different from those kinds of performances.
I really recommend the performance culture that can only be enjoyed in Manhattan.
