Winter in Manhattan

겨울은 마치 뉴욕의 계절 같다.

미국에서 가장 겨울을 아름답게 표현하는 곳은 단연 뉴욕 시티,

그 중에서도 맨하탄이 아닐까 싶다.

색색이 수놓아 가는 거리 장식, 트리, 캐롤까지...

겨울, 크리스마스, 연말을 느끼기에 이보다 더 좋은 곳은 없을 것 같다.

 

Winter is like the season in New York.
I think the place in America that expresses winter most beautifully is definitely New York City, especially Manhattan.
Colorful street decorations, trees, carols...
I don’t think there is a better place to feel winter, Christmas, and the end of the year.

 

한국은 저작권 문제로 거리의 캐롤이 멈춘지 오래다.

하지만 여기는 어딜가나 들을수 있다. 

미국에서의 연말은 정말 따듯하다.

11월 중순의 땡스기빙부터 블랙프라이데이, 그리고 12월 한달 내내 느끼는 크리스마스와 연말..

새해까지 이어지는 축제는 겨울을 진짜 따뜻하게 만들어준다. 

무엇인가 쫓기듯 마무리 해오던 한국의 연말과는 사뭇 다른 분위기다.

The end of the year in America is really warm.
From Thanksgiving in mid-November to Black Friday, and the feeling of Christmas

and the end of the year throughout December...
Festivals leading up to the New Year really warm up the winter.
The atmosphere is quite different from the end of the year in Korea, 

where something seems to be coming to an end.

 

Bryant Park

 

조금 있으면 Rockefeller center에 대형트리가 설치되겠지만,

맨하탄에는 곧곧에 볼거리가 풍부하다. 

Bryant Park는 벌써 스케이트 장이 오픈했다.

이상한 날씨에 추위는 오락가락하지만, 아이스링크는 겨울을 알리고 있다.   

 

A large tree will be installed at Rockefeller Center soon.
There is plenty to see in Manhattan.
Bryant Park's ice skating rink has already opened.
The cold comes and goes due to the strange weather, but the ice rink signals the arrival of winter.

 

기회가 있다면 겨울의 맨하탄을 들러보는 것도 좋을 듯 하다.
