오늘 소개할 곳은 2744 Broadway 2nd floor, New York, NY 10025에 위치한 "브로드웨이 태권도" 이다.

맨하탄을 비롯해 뉴욕에 많은 태권도장이 있지만,

이곳에는 관장님이 직접 열심히 가르치고 있다.

There are many Taekwondo schools in New York including Manhattan,
but here, the Master teaches diligently.

 

 

아기자기하게 꾸며진 내부 인테리어와 소품들,

그리고 운동하기 좋은 매트와 깔끔함이 눈길을 끈다.

통 유리창이 더욱 넓어보이게 하는 효과도 있는 것 같다.

그리고 밖에서도 운동하는 모습이 보이기도 한다.

 

The cutely decorated interior and props,
and the mats and neatness that are good for exercising are eye-catching.
The glass windows also seem to have the effect of making the space look wider.
And you can also see people exercising outside.

 

 

태권도의 종주국인 한국, 

그래도 태권도는 한국인 관장과 사범이 가르치는 것이,

외국인 사범들과는 다른 점이 확실히 있다.

 

Korea, the home of Taekwondo,
But Taekwondo is taught by Korean masters and instructors,
and there are clear differences from foreign masters and instructors.

 

그리고 태권도에 필요한 언어도 한국어로 가르치는 것이 당연한 듯 하다.

그러다보면 자연스럽게 태권도로 인해 한국어에 대한 관심도 높아지는 것 같다.

태권도가 America's Got talent, Britain's Got Talent에 출전함으로서

그 위상도 높아졌다.

특히 'Britain's Got Talent' 에서 '싸울아비' 라는 시범단이 골든 부저를 받아 

세계에서 인정을 받았다.

정말 써커스를 방불케 했다. 

 

And it seems natural that the language needed for Taekwondo is also taught in Korean.
As a result, interest in Korean naturally increases due to Taekwondo.
Taekwondo's status also rose as it appeared on America's Got Talent and Britain's Got Talent.
In particular, the demonstration team called 'Saul Abi' received the golden buzzer on 'Britain's Got Talent' and
was recognized around the world.
It was really reminiscent of a circus.

 

태권도는 다른 무술들과 달리 유일하게 정형화된 품세들과 겨루기, 호신술이 모두 결합된 복합 무술이라 생각한다. 

다른 무술들은 그저 호신술이나 겨루기에 집중되어 있다면,

태권도는 품세부터 매우 다양한 기술들을 습득할 수 있다.

그래서 그 어떤 무술보다 끊임 없이 연마 할 수 있고, 다양한 기술을 배울수 있는 매력적인 무술이다.

 

I think Taekwondo is a compound martial art that combines standardized forms, sparring, and self-defense, unlike other martial arts.
While other martial arts are focused on self-defense or sparring,
Taekwondo allows you to acquire a wide variety of techniques from forms.
That's why it's an attractive martial art that you can continuously practice and learn a variety of techniques more than any other martial art.

 

문화의 힘은 우리가 생각하는 것 그 이상이다. 

우리 문화, 우리 태권도가 미국에서 더욱 인정받고 자리잡길 바란다.
