July 4th in Hudson River

July 4th! 미국의 독립기념일을 특별하다.

미국 사람들은 이 날은 미국의 생일로 생각하고 서로에게 축하를 건넨다.

그리고 매우 행복하고 축복하는 날로 여긴다.

그래서 그런지 전날부터 July 4th, 그리고 그 다음주까지 휴가를 가는 사람들도 매우 많다.

 

July 4th! America's Independence Day is special.
Americans consider this day to be America's birthday and congratulate each other.
And it is considered a very happy and blessed day.
Perhaps that's why there are so many people who go on vacation from the day before to July 4th and the week after.

 

행사마다 하는 불꽃놀이 이지만, 

이날은 Macy's 에서 주최를 하고 그 어느 불꽃놀이보다 규모가 크다.

또한 2024년에는 그간 East River에서 하던 것과는 달리,

West Side인 Hudson River에서 거의 10년만에 다시 하게 되어 사람들의 기대는 매우 컸다.

 

Although fireworks are held at every event,
This day is hosted by Macy's and is bigger than any other fireworks display.
Also, unlike what has been done in East River in 2024,
People's expectations were very high as it was held again for the first time in almost 10 years at Hudson River on the West Side.

 

불꽃놀이는 W 14th - 34th까지 이어졌지만

나는 W 70th 에 위치한 Pier 1에 갔고,

Pier View로 나가니 아래쪽 까지 다 볼수 있어서 불꽃놀이를 색다르게 더 즐길수 있었다. 

 

The fireworks continued from W 14th - 34th.
I went to Pier 1 located on W 70th,
When I went out to Pier View, I could see down to enjoy the fireworks differently.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hudson River 어디를 가도 잘 보였을 듯 했다.

오히려 일부 Roof top은 빌딩들 때문에 더 안좋은 뷰를 가지고 있기도 했다.

역시 강에서 하는 불꽃은 강으로 가서 보는 것이 좋을 듯 하다.

 

It seemed like it would be visible no matter where you went along the Hudson River.
In fact, some roof tops had worse views due to buildings.
Of course, it would be a good idea to go to the river to see fireworks on the river.

 

미국의 독립기념일을 생일로 여기고 모두 함께 축하하는 미국!

축제의 날로 여겨지는 이 날처럼 한국도 광복절이 이런 의미를 가지면 좋을 듯 하다.

 

The United States considers Independence Day as its birthday and everyone celebrates it together!
It would be nice if Korea's Liberation Day had this same meaning as this day, which is considered a day of festivals.
